Side Street, a beloved day-to-night destination in Manchester, has unveiled a major overhaul following a two-week renovation, just in time for the busy party season. The venue, known for its cocktails, food, and live music, celebrated its reopening on Wednesday 30th October with an exclusive launch event featuring a host of Manchester’s social elite.
Situated in the vibrant St John’s district on the ground floor of The ABC Buildings, the revamped venue now offers an even broader appeal with new features and a refreshed menu.
New Look, New Offerings
Side Street has rebranded itself with several exciting new additions. Among these is the newly introduced Side Store, a casual spot that transitions from a daytime café offering coffee and brunch to an evening hangout, complete with £7 spritzes and a takeaway bottle fridge for those on the go. The Side Bar, now proudly dubbed the “Home of the Colada,” showcases a £7 menu featuring retro twists on the classic rum cocktail, including options like the Snowball Colada and the Cocoa Colada. Another exciting option is the Clarified Colada, made with rum, falernum, coconut, milk, and citrus.
The Side Space promises an exciting lineup of live gigs, pop-up events, and club nights, staying open until 3 am to offer a lively, late-night atmosphere.
A New Menu to Match the Vibe
In addition to the refreshed setting, the venue has launched an all-new menu, developed in collaboration with the renowned Tartuffe. The lunch, dinner, and brunch offerings have been redesigned to include crowd-pleasing favourites alongside new items. Notable dishes on the lunch and dinner menu include the Chicken Kiev sandwich, Macaroni Cheese, and Squash Salad. For dinner, guests can enjoy options such as Monkfish, Flat Iron Steak, and Rotisserie Chicken, accompanied by sides like crispy fries or roasted vegetables. For dessert, guests can indulge in decadent options like Black Forest Gateau or Pineapple Cheesecake.
Brunch remains a highlight, with dishes like the sharing continental breakfast for two, Steak & Eggs, and Belgian waffles topped with either Black Forest winter berry compote or buttermilk fried chicken.
The Ultimate Day-to-Night Destination
Side Street’s new setup positions it as a one-of-a-kind destination catering to all tastes, whether for a leisurely brunch, after-work drinks, or a late-night dance. The venue offers a wide range of drinks, including coffee, spritzes, beers, wines, spirits, and classic cocktails, alongside its signature Colada offerings. Side Street is now open Monday to Friday from 8 am until late, and Saturdays from 9 am until late.
Hayley Sammé from Shiko Group, which owns Side Street, said: “This refresh was about taking our unique vibe to the next level. We’re thrilled to be back, offering something for everyone from morning through to midnight and beyond. The launch was an incredible success, and we are excited to welcome both our loyal customers and newcomers to experience what we have to offer.”
The revamp of Side Street is just the latest project from Shiko Group, known for bringing innovative venues and experiences to Manchester. The group has also launched festive experiences at The Lawn Club and Courts Club, including a winter yurt and seasonal events at The Stables.
