Manchester’s Ducie House has welcomed nearly 6,000 sq. ft. of new tenancies, strengthening its role as a key hub for the city’s creative and innovative industries. Town Centre Securities PLC (TCS), the property investment and car parking operator behind the site, announced the additions, which include diverse businesses spanning hairdressing, 3D data capture, and e-commerce.
Located near Manchester’s Northern Quarter and Piccadilly Station, Ducie House has undergone significant evolution, blending historic charm with modern facilities to attract new tenants. The development underscores its growing reputation as a prime workspace for entrepreneurs and established firms alike.
Diverse Businesses Set Up in Ducie House
Among the new occupiers is Host, a hairdressing collective taking 2,692 sq. ft. to establish a creative hub that includes a salon, education space, and collaboration zone. Co-owner Peter Tobolski said: “Ducie House offers the perfect environment to nurture creativity and foster collaboration, and we’re excited to be part of this vibrant community.”
Shanghai-based Shanghai Startex Co Ltd has also joined the mix, using 322 sq. ft. to launch its first UK office. Jane Clarke, Creative Director for the UK arm, praised the site’s connectivity and strategic location, which provides access to key retailers for research and development.
Other newcomers include Output Precision, specialising in 3D data capture, and WSG Fire Safety Consultancy, which offers risk assessments and fire strategy services. Meanwhile, e-commerce agency Mesoo has set up operations for its TikTok and digital services within the building.
Expansion of Existing Tenants
In addition to welcoming new tenants, Ducie House is supporting the growth of existing occupiers. BR2.0 Group, which oversees construction and property solutions under brands such as Big Red and Xpercity, has secured a larger 2,195 sq. ft. suite to meet the demands of its expanding team.
Mike Lomas, founder of BR2.0 Group, highlighted the building’s strategic location: “Ducie House has been the perfect base for our operations. Its proximity to Manchester city centre and beyond has been crucial as we continue to expand both here and across the North and Midlands.”
A Creative Hub with Historic Roots
Matthew Wright, Associate Director of Estates for TCS, celebrated the site’s success: “The extensive refurbishment in 2020 transformed Ducie House into a contemporary hub while preserving its historic character. It’s fantastic to see such a diverse range of businesses thrive here.”
Wright also credited collaboration with agents Avison Young, OBI, and Daniel Harris for securing the latest deals. The additions mark another milestone for the property, which remains a key part of TCS’s portfolio.
Ducie House’s blend of historical charm and modern functionality continues to attract Manchester’s growing creative and business community, solidifying its reputation as a leading destination for innovation.
