- Dynamic lighting upgrade unveiled for world’s tallest building
- First display scheduled for Eid Al Etihad festivities
Emaar Properties has revealed a cutting-edge lighting transformation for the Burj Khalifa, the tallest structure in the world. The advanced RGBW lighting system combines technological innovation with architectural elegance and will debut on 1 December 2024 as part of the UAE’s Eid Al Etihad celebrations. This enhancement also marks the lead-up to the tower’s 15th anniversary on 4 January 2025.
This upgrade enhances the tower’s façade with a broad spectrum of vibrant colours and dynamic lighting effects, enriching the guest experience and affirming Dubai’s position as a global leader in innovation and design.
Following six months of testing, the RGBW system replaces static lights with addressable fixtures capable of creating intricate lighting patterns. These effects adapt seamlessly to both festive occasions and everyday displays, complementing the Burj Khalifa’s media screen while maintaining its iconic silhouette.
Mr Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Executive Director at Emaar Properties, remarked: “Burj Khalifa has always stood as a beacon of what is possible when vision meets innovation. This lighting overhaul is a testament to our continuous pursuit of excellence and a tribute to the UAE’s spirit of progress. As we unveil this stunning upgrade during Eid Al Etihad celebrations and approach the tower’s 15th anniversary, this transformation marks a new chapter in its legacy, reaffirming Dubai as a city of boundless ambition.”
This lighting innovation blends artistic creativity with technological advancements, setting a new standard for architectural illumination on a global scale.
