MORE EVENTS COMING SOON
The Mind your Step! roadshow pilot was developed to create opportunities for older adults aged 60+ to gain knowledge, advice and guidance on falls prevention in a neighbourhood venue.
A number of key services, all with a focus on falls prevention, attended the first 2 events (pre-lockdown): MLCO Falls Teams (North, Central, South) Age UK, GMFRS Community Safety, buzz PARS team, buzz Age Friendly team and Manchester Care & Repair.
The initial events included a free lunch offered to attendees. A plan for the day was set to enable services to interact with attendees, deliver activities and give people the opportunity to ask questions specific to their individual needs. Activities included:
- Falls bingo
- Active ageing quiz
- Strength and balance demo
- Super six demo
- Exercise band demo
- Service talks
- Information and feedback stall
