The aim of this group is to provide training to parents who attend the children’s centres. Giving them the confidence to deal with any first aid emergency surrounding their child.

We know from our conversations with parents that a number have concerns about their child choking when weaning them from breast feeding to solid foods. Through the provision of a baby first aid session, supported by buzz, we can provide parents with relevant skills to keep their children safe.

Topics covered during the session include:

• Unresponsive baby and child (breathing and not breathing)
• Choking baby and child
• Bleeding
• Burns
• Raised temperatures
• Meningitis

This is a closed group - discussions are ongoing about other venues for this activity.
