Being Age Friendly Training by buzz's Age Friendly Team

Being age friendly training

Our Age Friendly Team would like to invite you to join them for their upcoming training session on:

Wednesday 22nd June 2022, 10:00am - 1:00pm at The Place, Fallowfield Library, Platt Lane

This Being Age Friendly Training explores why being age friendly should be everyone’s business, and has been designed using the expertise of our Age Friendly Team, our Knowledge Service, the World Health Organisation, Age Friendly Manchester and older residents themselves.

This training is targeted at groups and organisations who are looking to develop new ways of working to improve access for older residents within communities.

The aim of the training is to challenge stigmas around ageing, improve knowledge around what the world health organisation recommend when building age friendly communities, and encouraging attendees to think about their own inclusive practice and how things could be improved for older people accessing their group/service.

The training will be interactive and will enable learners to build on their knowledge whilst participating in fun and educational activities. The session will also familiarise learners with actions that are being taken in the city, regionally and nationally to create age friendly services, age friendly neighbourhoods and the steps being taken towards age equality.
