NHS Knowledge & Library Services Awareness Week 2021
This week, from Monday 14th June to today, Friday 18th June, we're celebrating the first ever NHS Knowledge and Library Services Awareness Week!
The week shines a light on the invaluable work undertaken by NHS knowledge and library specialists who work with healthcare staff across a broad range of specialisms. This important service is there for every member of the NHS, and in the case of our own Knowledge Service, everyone working in health and social care within Manchester.
Anybody who works promoting health and wellbeing within Manchester (the area covered by Manchester City Council, unfortunately we don't cover Greater Manchester) can join the buzz Knowledge Service at Fallowfield Library. This includes people working in the NHS, charities, organisations, schools, local community groups and many more. If you want to join, or check if you're able to join, email email@example.com
Library teams help to free up the time of their colleagues by using their specialist skills to bring reliable, up to date evidence to healthcare professionals. Knowledge specialists and librarians deliver the most up to date and reliable information enabling multidisciplinary teams to make informed decisions at the right time, at the point of need.
In practice, this means that knowledge services give frontline teams the gift of time to focus on patients and ultimately improve patient care and outcomes. Backed by evidence, all NHS staff can be more confident they are making the right decisions.
Locally, NHS knowledge and library services generally offer library learning space on site, as well as delivering remote services, ensuring knowledge and evidence is at the fingertips of staff and learners.
Our Knowledge Service provides access to Fallowfield library, information and health promotion resources. We stock a range of books, models and leaflets which focus on a wide variety of health topics e.g. health eating, alcohol and sexual health. These items can be borrowed from our site in Fallowfield and used to promote health and wellbeing in an interactive, evidence-based way in your organisation or community.

We are now operating a staffed Click and Collect service at our Library site in Fallowfield. You can reserve books, leaflets and health promotion resources and arrange an appointment to collect them from the site. Appointments are available from 10am-3pm Monday to Friday.
