Meet buzz's Knowledge Service Team
Our Knowledge Service Team provides access to library, information and health promotion resources for people working in the health and social care sector in Manchester. We stock a range of books, models and leaflets which focus on a range of health topics. These items can be borrowed from our site in Fallowfield and used to promote health and wellbeing in your organisation or community.
In this week's blog post let's meet the Team buzz members behind the Knowledge Service!
Jane - Library & Knowledge Service Manager
I manage the buzz Knowledge Service. We provide a service to all people working in health and social care in Manchester ensuring they have access to the very best information to support the health and wellbeing of Manchester’s communities.
I moved to Manchester to complete my MA in Library and Information Studies in 2008 and never left! It’s a great place to live and there’s always loads going on. In my spare time I enjoy going to the theatre, reading and baking.
Caroline - Library Assistant
I’m proud to be part of such an innovative and inclusive service, and enjoy working with a really creative and supportive team.
I'm an avid reader and dog walker!
John B - Librarian
My role is to assist and train library users to find the evidence they need, when they need it, and to answer the many, varied requests we receive for information.
I love to read, and always have 2 or 3 books on the go. My other passions are art and travel, visiting galleries and discovering new countries is my idea of wellbeing!
John C - Librarian
My role is to provide proactive library services which assist users to find the information and evidence they need, when and where they need it.
I like living in Manchester and enjoy going to the art galleries, concerts, cinemas, theatres and restaurants here. I often visit the Lakes, and enjoy walking there. I am interested in history, and visit historical and cultural sites around the country.
Lorna - Public Health & Engagement Librarian
I find research and evidence to support the work the buzz Neighbourhood Health Workers and Physical Activity Referral Service do. I’m working on ways to extend this support across Manchester.
As a librarian, of course I love to read. I do creative writing and love playing squash, doing yoga and going on bike rides. Inspired by the Stranger Things series, I’ve also recently started playing Dungeons and Dragons.
Dawn - Communications Worker
It’s my job to communicate the amazing work going on within buzz Manchester Health & Wellbeing Service. You’ll find me tweeting @buzzmanc, drafting media releases, writing blog posts… these are just some of the parts of my role. There’s always so much exciting work going on which keeps me very busy!
I love dogs and nature (I’ve also got a degree in Geology). I enjoy spending time with my shetland sheepdog Midge and walking in nature reserves with my fiancé. I also love Star Wars!
