Meet Team buzz: Amy
What’s your role within buzz Manchester Health & Wellbeing Service?
I am a Graduate Library and Knowledge Services Trainee. I work in buzz’s Knowledge Service to help health and social care professionals to access accurate and up to date health information and resources.
Describe a typical day at work...
My days can vary based on what I’m working on. A large part of my role is organising and facilitating health information literacy training sessions called the Better Information Programme, which is open to anyone working in health and social care in Manchester. I also help out on our library desk, giving advice on health promotion resources and leaflet collections. Something I really enjoy is going to meet our Trust’s new nursing preceptees to present to them about our service and how we can help them in their new roles.
What do you love most about your job?
I love that I’ve learned so much, and been with a team that really supports my development and encourages me to try new things. I also love delivering training and providing people with access to resources to support their work. It’s great to hear how someone has implemented something they’ve learnt at one of our training sessions, or how they’ve used one of our resources to help service users.
If you had to do another job for one day what would you pick?
I love yoga, so I’d say maybe a yoga teacher although I’d have to improve a lot first!
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Yoga, reading, going out for food/drinks.
What’s your favourite thing about Manchester?
That there’s so many options for things to do.
