Spotlight On: buzz Knowledge Service @ Fallowfield Library
The Knowledge Service, on the first floor of Fallowfield Library, is one of the three areas of buzz, along with Neighbourhood Health Workers and the Physical Activity Referral Service (PARS). We are open to anyone working in health and social care in Manchester.
At Fallowfield Library we stock a range of health promotion resources, leaflets and books which are available to borrow and use. Some of our popular buzz Mental Health Guides are available to take away in a physical format from the library too, you can find out more about these guides in a previous blog post here. We cover all kinds of public health topics, from healthy eating to hygiene and alcohol awareness to sexual health. Our resources are suitable for a variety of age groups and events. Everything we have is up-to-date and evidence-based so that we are giving people the most reliable health information we can.
The Knowledge Service also offers training sessions for anyone working in health and social care in Manchester, to help you find reliable and up-to-date health information. Keep an eye on our website for upcoming dates!
We have recently given our space a makeover to make it more welcoming and open. For a few weeks there was some upheaval, there were lots of boxes and tools where there would usually be books! Now there is more room for people to study, meet and work within the Knowledge Service in a calm and friendly environment. As well as our networked PCs, we also have new desks that can be used for group study or working alone. Our resident skeleton, Pelvis Presley, is also enjoying the change!
Check out the video below to see the space under construction and how it looks now!
