Community conversations create a buzz at the Wythenshawe Games
Now in its eighth year, the Wythenshawe Games is Greater Manchester’s biggest community sport event held annually every July in Wythenshawe Park. Thousands of people from the local community headed to the festival this year from 24th to 28th July, ready to try out new activities including skateboarding and disk golf.
buzz were in the Health Zone for the duration of the games having conversations with the community about the many different ways to improve health and wellbeing. buzz Neighborhood Health Workers work within the heart of communities. They engage with residents directly to inform and inspire local wellbeing initiatives. This event was an ideal opportunity to listen to the views of local people living in the surrounding area. Health information was also shared on a range of topics from healthy eating to quitting smoking.
The Health Zone was a hub of activity across the five days with discussions around the importance of maintaining good physical and mental health and wellbeing within our communities.
