Stacey Howarth

Physical Activity Referral Officer

My job is to provide health screening and exercise advice to people referred to PARS with a variety of health conditions, and deliver specialised exercise sessions to support this.

I graduated with a Sports Science degree in 2000 and went on to work in my local gym (Heywood Sports Complex). From here I started working closely with the Exercise Referral Service in Rochdale and was delivering exercise sessions and gym inductions for them. I got a few extra qualifications under my belt and in 2005 got a role as a Physical Activity Referral Officer in Manchester where I have been ever since (except for a year out in Great Yarmouth working for the Stop Smoking Service).

It took me moving to Norfolk to realise how much I loved and missed Manchester! We are such a diverse bunch and yet so warm and welcoming to everyone. Everyone at buzz genuinely cares about the residents of Manchester and it’s an honour to be part of that team.

I have been a keen hockey player in the past but these days most of my time out of work is spent entertaining my 3 boys. If I can fit in the occasional run here or there then that’s a bonus!
