Knowledge Service Assistant
I work in the buzz Knowledge Service, providing health promotion resources, books and information to health and social care workers in Manchester. My role is based on the front desk, helping people to find what they need, answering enquiries and issuing items.
Since 2012, I have worked in a range of customer service roles. I recently completed my MA in Library and Information Management, in order to pursue a career in librarianship. While on the course, I developed an interest in health libraries which led me to start working for buzz in 2019.
The buzz team are friendly and welcoming, which makes it a great place to work. I love collaborating with the Neighbourhood Health Workers and Physical Activity Referral Service to help support projects with evidence and information, and seeing this make a difference in the community.
I moved to Manchester in 2017 and since then it has become my adopted home. For a big city, it has a real community atmosphere and is packed full of culture and diversity. I’m passionate about books so one of my favourite things is that Manchester has lots of amazing libraries, both modern and historic, to explore.
