John Brooke

Librarian

My role is to assist and train library users to find the evidence they need, when they need it, and to answer the many, varied requests we receive for information

I began my library career in 1998 by specializing in substance misuse, which I broadened out to mental health in 2013 when my library joined with that of Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. Now I am also part of buzz, I help deliver accurate health information for the people of Manchester

Joining buzz has allowed me to support the enthusiastic teams who work in the lively communities across the city. I am constantly surprised at just how much they do and the energy they show.

I love to read, and always have 2 or 3 books on the go. My other passions are art and travel, visiting galleries and discovering new countries is my idea of wellbeing!
