Community Champion - Start Well Develop Well
Start Well Develop Well use a community-based approach; working with families, organisations and initiatives that support families, to improve their health and wellbeing. This involves listening to families and developing opportunities that support health. Improving outcomes within the first 1000 days of a child’s life is a priority. Along with managing the Start Well Develop Well team at buzz I am responsible for the team’s delivery in North Manchester. In North Manchester a significant part of my role is engaging with families and developing projects to support families.
My background is in Ecology, I worked for a number of years on Environmental Education and Education for Sustainable Development.
Working for buzz is fantastic because of the essential role we play in improving the health of Manchester residents, and the interesting and highly skilled colleagues that make up buzz. Every day I encounter new challenges, opportunities and people. My professional and personal interests are embedded in my belief that we can always do more to reduce inequalities and the impact of inequalities on health and wellbeing. Working directly with communities is essential in improving public health.
I am a keen photographer. I love cycling, hill walking and skateboarding. I am currently relearning the piano and trombone, and building a home recording studio.
