Neighbourhood Health Worker – Start Well Develop Well
My days at work are incredibly varied. We engage in a number of ways in a number of venues (e.g. Surestart centres, community centres, churches or Mosques). We find out what parents like about their community, what they enjoy doing with their family and what would they would like to see to improve their health and wellbeing. Once parents and families have shared what they would like to see we will work with them to make it happen.
We also attend neighborhood meetings such as Surestart advisory boards and neighborhood partnerships. This allows us the opportunity, with our partners, to ensure that children and families within our local communities are heard, supported and looked after.
My background is predominantly in Sport and Exercise Psychology. I attended Edge Hill University between 2014 – 17 and Leeds Beckett University between 2017 – 18 to complete both my undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications. My study also included a number of placements.
My job is incredible! I love having the opportunity to meet incredible families and hearing their ideas and ambitions which aim to improve their community’s health and wellbeing, it’s awesome!
I support Blackburn Rovers and I am a member of Trinity Church Manchester.
