My role in buzz is to oversee the delivery of the service. I work closely with the Knowledge and Information Service, the Community Development Team and the Physical Activity Referral Service to support these teams in providing amazing, high quality services to the residents and professionals of Manchester.
I started my career in health and social care in 1998. Initially, in the voluntary sector working with vulnerable people, then as a Training Facilitator and Volunteer Coordinator. In 2004, I joined the NHS to work in substance misuse. Over the years, I managed services providing mutual aid support, service user led community projects and clinical care. To pursue my interest in public health, I joined buzz in 2018.
Since joining buzz, I’ve loved working with its diverse team, who are passionate about improving health and wellbeing of people living in Manchester. I’m impressed on a daily basis by their creativity and their dedication.
I’m originally from Derby but have always had an affinity for Manchester and gravitated to the city in 2004. I have a lifelong love of music, listening and playing (badly.) Given the bands and scenes that have come out of Manchester, what better place could I call home!

"Before I didn’t know anyone in this area, then a neighbour invited me to the afternoon tea, and I met lots of people who live just a few doors away."
