The Knowledge Service provides access to library, information and health promotion resources for people working in the health and social care sector in Manchester. We stock a range of books, models and leaflets which focus on a range of health topics. These items can be borrowed from our site in Fallowfield and used to promote health and wellbeing in your organisation or community.
Who can use the Knowledge Service?
Anyone working in health and social care in Manchester can use the Knowledge Service. You can be based within a charity, third sector organisation or local authority.
All Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust staff can also access our services.
What can the Knowledge Service offer me?
The Knowledge Service provides the following services to users:
- Health promotion resources and leaflets
- Study space
- Better Information Programme training
- Current awareness services
- Evidence and information support

The Knowledge Service is open Monday- Friday 09:00-16:30

The Knowledge Service is now operating by appointment only for a Click and Collect service and returns. We have made changes to our services at this time to maintain social distancing and keep our users and staff safe. You can read our Knowledge Service COVID-19 Safety Charter here
If you would like to borrow health promotion resources or books, or get leaflets, please reserve the items in advance and book an appointment to collect using the contact details above. Full details of our Click and Collect Service can be found here
We are currently unable to offer study space, PC use or browsing for books and resources. This will be reviewed on a regular basis.
