LSH Auto recently hosted its third networking event in support of the Women of the Year Awards, attracting over 70 delegates to its flagship site on Brighton Road, Stockport. The sold-out event aimed to empower women and create connections across different sectors, reinforcing the importance of female representation in business.
Among the guest speakers were notable figures such as Bea Armstead, Belonging and Engagement Manager at the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), Nicole Sealey, CEO and star of Real Housewives of Cheshire, and Alexa Cherry, Group Director of Sales for Dakota Hotels. Their presence lent valuable insights to the discussions surrounding women’s experiences in various professional fields.
Bea Armstead expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating, “I thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many women and allies from different sectors all coming together to discuss common experiences and to champion all women in business. My goal is to transcend traditional equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging frameworks. I’m passionate about promoting genuine human connection rather than meeting checklists. Today’s event was a wonderful example of how bringing people together to form real connections can be so powerful.”
Vaughan Blackman, Managing Director of LSH Auto, extended his gratitude to the panelists and attendees, highlighting the event’s success. He said, “I would like to thank the panel and everybody who came along to our third ‘Women In…’ networking event. The day was another resounding success, and I’m sure that our guests came away feeling inspired and empowered. We are so pleased to be supporting the Women of the Year Awards and we’re really looking forward to celebrating the achievements of women across business and society at the ceremony next month.”
The Women of the Year Luncheon and Awards, now in its 42nd year, is set to take place at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on October 11. This prestigious event recognises exceptional female role models from various sectors, including media, education, healthcare, hospitality, engineering, construction, and manufacturing.
Zalena Vandrewala, managing associate at national law firm Freeths LLP and chair of the board for the Women of the Year Awards, shared her excitement about the event. “We were thrilled by the sheer number of nominations we received this year and are now in the process of the final judging before the big day in October. The awards recognise the outstanding women that are pivotal to our society,” she stated.
Vandrewala added that this year’s awards will be particularly special as they will be hosted in Manchester for the first time. More than 300 high-calibre nominations were submitted for the 2024 awards, reflecting the remarkable contributions of women across the UK.
The Women of the Year Awards also proudly supports The Prince’s Trust, having donated £13,000 to the charity last year, with hopes to match or exceed that figure in 2024. Over its 42-year history, the awards have contributed nearly £600,000 to various charitable organisations, reinforcing their commitment to empowering women and supporting communities across the nation.
As the countdown to the awards ceremony begins, anticipation builds for an event that celebrates the achievements and potential of women in all spheres of life.
